Heau installs in 3 steps

Step 1: verify

Check below to see if Heau is a good fit for you

Check your space

Does Heau fit in your bathroom?
The Heau concealed model requires a space of 19x60cm inside the wall. The system can be placed inside a finish wall or inside a hole in brickwork or concrete. The installation is similar to the water storage for hanging toilets.

Check your connection

Do you have potable water and a boiler?
Heau requires a hot and cold water connection. They are typically marked red and blue. Is there a boiler in your home? Heau does not heat up the water by itself. Heau uses the heat from the previous shower session to buffer the waiting period.

The system works on the power of the water itself and does not require electricity. Only a hot and cold water connection is required.

Yes, you do. The shower tap does require the external heat energy in a previous hot shower and does not heat the water.

We emphasize customers to have a minimal hot water temperature of 55°C according to NEN1006. A lower temperature can generate problems in the entire hot water circuit. The higher the incoming temperature from the boiler, the more energy can be stored. This results in a longer allowed time between shower sessions.
Hot water temperature from boiler Max. time between showers
55°C (min. temperature – NEN1006) 3 days
62°C 4 days
70°C (max. temperature) 5 days

The water pressure should be between 2 bar and 7 bar. In developed countries, this will be the case in almost every household.

The only limitation is distance between boiler and shower. The shower is built for a maximal distance of 30 meters pipe. The distance is in 99.9% of households below 30m. Should you be the lucky 0.1% that lives in a very big castle, you can contact us for a tailored product😉

The shower tap works independently from the heat source, so it is compatible with all heat sources.

Only an industry standard 1/2″ thread connector with hot and cold water is required.

We’ve had tremendously positive feedback from installers. This means we have a lot of regions covered but not all of them yet. In the event we don’t have a partner in your area when your unit is available, you can elect to hire an installer of your choice, install it yourself, or wait until a Heau Installation Partner is available.

They do not need to attend a formal training, but we do give them plenty of resources if they have any questions. They will be able to download our installation guide and we also offer installer support via phone and email. Heau installation is made straightforward.
